Aghil K P, Abhijith C T and Febin Antony from the School of Computer Sciences (MSc
2024-26 batch) have secured the Second Prize in the Idea Contest held during the Two-Day
Workshop on “ONE HEALTH NEXUS: Bridging Human, Animal & Environmental Health.”
The event took place at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, on July 28th and 29th, 2025.
The workshop was a prestigious event organized by the Business Innovation and Incubation
Centre (BIIC) and the School of Biosciences, in association with the Centre of Excellence in
Kerala Institute of Science Technology and Innovation (CoE-KISTI) and the Kairali Gaveshana
Puraskaram Project of the Kerala State Higher Education Council (KSHEC).
The Winning Idea: AI-Driven AMR Surveillance System
The team presented their innovative concept titled “AI-Driven AMR Surveillance System.” Their
idea focuses on creating an intelligent system to monitor and predict the spread of Antimicrobial
Resistance (AMR). By leveraging Artificial Intelligence, the system aims to analyze data from
human, animal, and environmental sources to provide early warnings and insights into emerging
drug-resistant threats, perfectly aligning with the workshop’s “One Health” theme.
