School of Computer Sciences Students Shine in the Competition: Students from the School
of Computer Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, showcased their excellence in the
competition. After an intense and engaging quiz, the following participants emerged as winners:
● Third Prize: Anu Surendran and Jinse P George (MSc 2023-2025 Batch, School of
Computer Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam)
The winners were awarded certificates and cash prizes in a felicitation ceremony. Faculty
members and students attended the event, appreciating the participants for their enthusiasm and
knowledge.
Event Overview: In connection with International Women’s Day, the School of Data Analytics
and the School of Mathematics and Statistics at Mahatma Gandhi University organized a quiz
competition titled “Women in STEM” on March 7, 2025. The event aimed to celebrate the
contributions of women in science and technology and encourage students to expand their
knowledge on the subject.
Competition Details: The quiz focused on the theme “Women in Science and Technology”
and covered various topics, including the achievements of notable women scientists, historical
breakthroughs, and recent advancements in STEM fields. Teams of up to two members
participated in the event, with a registration fee of Rs. 20 per team.
Significance and Impact: The Women’s Day Quiz Competition served as an inspiring platform
to recognize the role of women in STEM and promote gender inclusivity in these fields.
Participants gained valuable insights, and the event successfully created awareness about the
importance of women’s contributions to science and technology.
The competition was a grand success, thanks to the efforts of the organizing
committee and the enthusiastic participation of students. The School of Computer Sciences
students performed exceptionally well, demonstrating their knowledge and competitive
