Induction Day and PTA Meeting | JULY 21, 2025
MSc Computer Science (2025–2027), 33rd Batch

The School of Computer Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, warmly welcomed the 33rd batch of MSc Computer Science students (2025–2027) during the Induction Day programme held on Monday, July 21st at 11.00 AM. The event also included a PTA meeting with active participation from parents and faculty members.

Prof. Dr. Bindu V R

The programme began with an address by the Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Bindu V R, who introduced the department’s academic structure, detailed the syllabus, class timings, university resources, and emphasized essential guidelines on anti-ragging and anti-drug policies. Her speech offered valuable insights into the academic culture and support systems of the School.

Prof. Dr. Jyothisha J Nair

Prof. Dr. Pushpalatha K P extended a heartfelt welcome to the incoming students, encouraging them to embark on this new journey with motivation and dedication. Prof. Dr. Jyothisha, class faculty-in-charge for the new batch, expressed her aspirations to make this batch a unique and outstanding one at SOCS, inspiring students to work closely with the faculty for mutual growth.

Other faculty members including Asst. Prof. Jismy Alphonse, Asst. Prof. Ambily George, and Asst. Prof. Manju also conveyed their greetings and support to the newcomers. Dr. Unnikrishnan G, Scientific Officer, introduced the students and parents to the lab infrastructure and technical facilities available within the department.

Following the formal session, each student introduced themselves, accompanied by their parents, creating a warm and interactive atmosphere. The PTA was officially formed during the meeting, with two parents being elected as PTA Presidents, marking the beginning of a collaborative academic journey.

The Induction Day served as a meaningful platform to bridge students, faculty, and parents, setting a positive tone for the academic years ahead.
The second-year students (MSc 2024–2026 batch) warmly welcomed their juniors with a heartfelt gesture by presenting them with beautifully crafted welcome cards. This small yet meaningful act of kindness helped set a friendly and inclusive tone for the new academic year, fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie among the students
