The NISWA 2024 Fest, organized by the MSW Department at Mahatma Gandhi University,
Kottayam, witnessed remarkable achievements from the School of Computer Sciences (SOCS)
students. On the 23rd of March 2024, Team SOCS emerged victorious in both the Futsal 3×3
Inter-College Football Tournament and the Photography Competition.

In the Futsal 3×3 Inter-College Football Tournament, Team SOCS showcased outstanding
teamwork and skill, securing the championship title. The team, comprising Dr. Abdul Jabbar P,
Ajmal V K, Sharon P S, and Roshan Eldhose, demonstrated exceptional athleticism and strategic
play, ultimately claiming victory in a highly competitive tournament.
Additionally, SOCS student Ajmal V K exhibited exceptional talent in the Photography
Competition, capturing the theme “Emotions” with creativity and finesse. His photograph stood
out among the submissions, earning him recognition and acclaim from both the judges and the
audience.

These achievements not only highlight the sporting and artistic prowess of the SOCS students
but also reflect their dedication and commitment to excellence. The success of Team SOCS in
the Futsal 3×3 tournament and Ajmal V K’s triumph in the Photography Competition add to the

In a commendable display of skill and social responsibility, the School of Computer Sciences
(SOCS) emerged victorious in the New Initiative by Social Work Aspirants (NISWA-2024)
football tournament. Organized by the Inter University Center for Disability Studies (IUCDS) at
Mahatma Gandhi University, the event aimed to promote inclusivity and raise awareness about
disability rights. SOCS demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
securing victories in the pre-quarter, quarter-final, and semi-final matches against formidable
opponents. In the hard-fought final, they gracefully won against KE College Mannanam. What
truly sets SOCS apart is their altruistic gesture of donating the prize money to the IUCDS
department for a house construction project, showcasing their commitment to social
welfare beyond the realm of sports. Their exemplary performance on the field and noble
contribution off it serve as an inspiration to all.
